I BEAT FIRE EMBLEM:RADIANT DAWN You canapos;t imagine how good it feels to write that Seeing as how Iapos;d been playing the d@mned game for 7 months off and on? (If I had just played it, with no other games to distract me, I mightapos;ve gone insane).

So, whatapos;s the Verdict?? It kinda sucked... The whole four parts four parties thing was stupid. I didnapos;t even get to play as Ike until part 3. The bosses were kind of cool, and even on normal mode it was insanely hard. Permanent death took 3 of my characters, 2 of which were dragons, and sacrificed their lives so I could beat the last boss. Voice acting by pretty much everyone but Ike was stiff and craptacular. There were more cut-scenes, and the narrator between missions was cool. Iapos;m pissed there was no congratulations screen when I beat it. It seems to me like Mr. Pocketapos;s paid someone to torture me to death and I lived through it, there might be congratulations in order. Iapos;m not sure what beating it unlocked, Iapos;m just glad I can say I did, Iapos;m gonna leave it be for quite some time.

Wahhh, I woke up from having terrible nightmares about Matt leaving me and all my friends abandoning me. I having been laying around with the window open looking through old pictures of everyone on facebook. Itapos;s so nostaligic, but itapos;s melancoly since I miss Eel and Matt. I want to spend the holidays with everyone, but I get back REALLY super close to X-mas. Not to mention I donapos;t have a car and Iapos;ll be flying into Tampa. So, the days go by, slower than they used to. Summerapos;s turning into autumn where I am; the leaves are starting to turn a beautiful range of colours, gold, brown, red... Now that everyoneapos;s gone to see Spider-Man 3, and possibly have moved on to the buzz regarding Pirates of the Caribbean, it is now safe to watch Spider-Man 3 and be assured of no lines and no other people watching with you.

It is also now safe to not like it.

It was disappointing. I expected more. I wanted to like it, really, but... I wanted to like it but Emo Peter ruined it for me.

Starting with that alien stuff. That was just wrong. The writer of Ultimate Spider-Man knew the extra-terrestrial beginning of Venom was a long shot (or as Jon Stewart put it, "the radioactive spider and taking on its characteristics, I buy. But alien goo?"), although I guess you can only re-imagine so much for the movie.

And you have Topher Grace and Thomas Haden Church in the cast as your villains. Youapos;d expect more, right? But, no. Theyapos;re radically underused, and seem to only serve to advance the Peter storyline.

The story was coherent enough, and as usual we got the "with great power" lecture, but surely there wouldapos;ve been a better way to spend those 120 or so minutes.

Or maybe I just had high expectations. Because I loved Spidey 2, and what could go wrong with the prospect of a best friend showdown? Come on, Tobey Maguire vs. James Franco in an emo brawl? Those two are masters of the sensitive guy role (see Cider House Rules and the James Dean TV movie), and whatapos;s more fun than seeing James Franco sneer?

Oh, yeah. James Franco shirtless. Producers, did we really have to wait for three movies to get Harry to take off his clothes? And in the first ten minutes, too Sweet. Because emo James Franco doing his artistic bit is always, always a nice sight.

Yes, yes, friends and I have labeled black suit-wearing Peter Parker as Emo Peter Parker because, dammit, that hair I wouldapos;ve hoped there was a better way to illustrate the effects of the suit than Peter recreating Saturday Night Fever, but what the hell.
FYI, the friend with whom I watched Spidey 3, opined that Peter looked like Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy in the Dance, Dance video.
To me Emo Peter Parker bore a likeness of Emo Peter Petrelli from Heroes. (By the way, after Peter faced Sylar, the emo bangs are gone Go, Sylar)

Dear Alan,

Iapos;ve arrived in Ontario in good shape. This place is no Nimmo Bay, but thereapos;s good fishing to be had on Lake Ontario, and maybe some hunting if things go according to plan. Iapos;ve got a little cabin on the water, out of the way of the town. Itapos;s not too bad, as cabins go. Couple of bedrooms, lake view. Mostly glass and stainless steel. The place came furnished, not too badly, and I think whoever he was, I would have liked him Thereapos;s a nice safe in the master bedroom closet for guns. Itapos;s kind of small for mine, but Iapos;ll make it fit. Oh, and the place has a balcony--you should fly out as soon as you win your case. Iapos;ll order some overstuffed armchairs, and weapos;ll break out the brandy and cigars.

I hope the girl we hired to be with you at night is doing my job but not taking my place. Sheapos;d better not be You know I get first call for sleepovers.

We are supposed to have our 3rd run of the year today. A 5K at the Albright Knox. I thought that my stitches would fall out midweek, but they have not. They are still there making it difficult and painful to walk. Because I am who I am, I did not want to concede that we would not be running today because dammit, we already paid for it I woke up this morning determined to figure out how to make it work. But you know what, I just want this to heal, and I donapos;t want to screw everything up. It pains me to say this, but we are not doing our run today. I also havenapos;t ran since last Wednesday, so itapos;s not like I had any time to prepare. This really sucks. I look forward to these things, I want to keep topping old times, socialize with other runners (maybe even start to see some familiar faces after enough of these) and well, yeah, win stuff sometimes :) We have only 1 other run scheduled for the year so far, which is the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day. Jess already registered, I did not. I cannot fathom that there would be any way that I canapos;t compete, but to be fair when I scheduled my surgery, I had already registered for this one. Oh well, I guess itapos;s another weekend of gingerly walking around the house.

Romeo is being puppy sat again and being the baby of the house, my sister and I have crafted a puppy bed hogging wonder. Heapos;s taken residence, currently, against my leg, which would be fine if he wasnapos;t kicking me and moving around to keep the bed to himself--and also making sure I canapos;t move my left leg as well. Stinking cute baby. Other than that, nothing new to report. Got intern stuff Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Oh--did get Volumes 3 and 5 of Love is like a Hurricane, which Dor will adore, letapos;s say bonding vibration involved Dor-chan. Will bring them up next time I visit.
